At Oceanvs everything is cooked over fire. It is the rule of the kitchen and the simplest way to understand the menu. Wood for the pizzas, coals for the cuts and a catch of the day that arrives whole at the table and is weighed in front of you before it is cooked.
The wood
The wood-fired oven gives the pizzas a crisp base and a smoky aroma. The fresh seafood pizza carries shrimp, octopus, squid and mussels; the arugula and prosciutto one is finished outside the oven. There is a vegan version and a five-cheese one.
The coals
The grill handles the cuts and many of the tacos: skirt steak with grilled spring onion, octopus marinated over the coals, grilled lobster in garlic butter. If you come as a group, order the cuts for the middle of the table and share.
The catch of the day
It arrives whole. You choose it, it is weighed at the table and then you decide how it will be cooked. Ask what came in that morning: it changes with the sea.
What skips the fire
The raw bar balances the table: tuna tostadas with Asian marinade, fish ceviche cured in lime. Something to start with while the grill heats up.
Who cooks
Chefs Laiser and Néstor have 34 years of craft between them. The idea has been the same from the start: regional product, cooked with patience.
